Before and After Difference

Gender difference waxes and wanes during the course of the human lifecycle just as it has throughout the course of human evolution. Diverse spiritual philosophies with a variety of theistic concepts agree that children claim a spirit from a world parallel to that of our physical reality. These spirits exist in timeless, genderless form until they are"called" into physical existence by the birth of a child who then embodies the spirit. The physical trajectory of the human lifecycle, from gestation to birth, puberty, old age and death reflects this assumption. Early life reflects little to no gender differentiation and the very last stages of life also demonstrate the reemergence of the spirit from within its earthly shell.

The much longer span of human evolution, both past and future, bears some relationship to the way in which individuals embody spirits, in terms of gender distinction. Prehistoric man reflects the more subdued gender differentiation of his primordial forebears than the more advanced gender differentiation of contemporary society. The future of human kind also promises signficantly less gender differentiation similar to how the elderly show less gender distinction as they reach the ends of their natural lives.
